This year we joined in with a community garden the the university organizes. We paid $10 to have a shared garden with like 8-10 other families. All summer we've been weeding the seeds we planted hoping for an awesome harvest. Over time some of the families have kind of dropped out and so by the end there were a lot of food for those who were left. We harvested so much food this fall. It was so cool. The things we got included peas, green beans, beets, tomatoes, carrots, corn, squash, potatoes, green peppers, green onions, lettuce, and sunflowers. We ended up with tons of carrots, corn, potatoes and peas especially. I've been taking a couple of carrots in my lunch everyday for weeks. Just before it started getting really cold we went up to the garden and got one last round before everything froze.
Here are some pictures. I like how the garden is right down the hill from the temple.
We didn't know about this until it was too late! We're definitely going to do it next year!!
