Hiking the "R"

In Rexburg there is a butte outside of town that has a white letter "R" painted on the side of it that can be seen from town. Having hiked up to the letters on the mountains in Utah near where we had lived, we wanted to add the "R" to our list. We took the girls and spent a morning hiking all over the butte and eventually to the "R". The butte is cool because it is actually an old volcano and so even though it looks flat on top from a distance the center is a giant crater. Pretty cool.

There are all kinds of caves in the rocks. Some are pretty big.

There are trails on the butte, but we liked to take the hard way. Here we climbed down this cliff with the babies in tow!
